האם אושר קו רכבת ישיר לכותל המערבי בירושלים לתיירים?

לאחר שבשנה האחרונה עוכב תכנון המשך הקו המהיר מתל אביב לירושלים, מתחנת נבון למרכז העיר ולעיר העתיקה, קיבלה השבוע המועצה הארצית לתכנון ובניה החלטה היסטורית והכריזה על תוואי הרכבת עד הכותל.

לאחר מספר חודשי עבודה של שר התחבורה בצלאל סמוטריץ' ובשיתוף פעולה עם יו"ר קבינט הדיור מר זאב ביילסקי שנרתם למציאת פתרון הוסכם על עיגון פתרון מסילתי שיגיע עד הכותל המערבי בהחלטת המועצה הארצית לתכנון ובניה.

המועצה קיבלה את עמדת השר והכריזה על תוואי הרכבת לפי סעיפים 76 ו-77 לחוק התכנון והבניה. עוד נקבע כי תנאי למתן היתר לביצוע המקטע שמתחנת נבון למתחם החאן יהיה אישור פתרון מסילתי להסעת המונים לעיר העתיקה ולכותל המערבי.

שר התחבורה בצלאל סמוטריץ' אמר עם קבלת האישור: "עומדות היו רגלינו בשערייך ירושלים, זהו יום גדול ומרגש, המשרד שאני זוכה לעמוד בראשו הוא משרד ביצועי שנוגע בכל אזרח במדינת ישראל ואנו עמלים לילות כימים למציאת פתרונות למשבר התחבורה בה שרויה מדינת ישראל. לא פחות חשוב, ב"ה, אנו גם זוכים לקדם אידיאולוגיה ציונית ויהודית".
